I am so excited to finally reveal the full branding for Carben Events + Marketing! Casey Wilson is an event and marketing guru here in Charlotte, having planned countless events and parties for local publications like Charlotte magazine, Where Charlotte, Charlotte Wedding and Charlotte Parent. (Ever been to a BOB Awards Party? That's all Casey.) She recently branched out on her own with Carben Events + Marketing, a boutique event planning and marketing company that specializes in community events.
Casey and I worked together for three years, making up 2/3rds of the marketing department for said magazines above. Casey was the mastermind behind the events and marketing, and I handled all of the branding and design work. We totally get each other's visions (99% of the time) -- so when Casey was ready to embark on branding for her new business venture I was so excited to get started!
Step 1: Inspiration Board
Casey will take on any event that is thrown her way but one thing she is clear about -- she wants nothing to do with weddings! (At one point I had an image of these cute little rose gold balloons that spelled out 'Love' in her mood board but she made me take that out. True story.) A few of the values that she wanted her brand to convey were quality, clean, modern, feminine and fun. She also wanted to convey movement to represent that there is always something going on. I think we captured that perfectly with the circular imagery!
Step 2: Logo Design
Casey's a gal who knows exactly what she wants so our logo design process was pretty easy. I don't typically present logo options that are this similar in style but Casey was pretty straightforward in her vision: CARBEN in all caps and bolder, events + marketing in a thin font, all black logo!
Casey loved them but wanted to see option 1 + 2 with "events + marketing" all lowercase and right aligned.
Casey loved #1 so we had our final logo. Easy peasy!
Step #3: Branding Board
Now that we had nailed down the primary logo and color palette, now we just needed some variant logos, patterns and typography. We pulled the movement and femininity in with the circular pattern and script font, while the geometric pattern brought in the modern feel Casey was looking for. The variant logos were kept clean and simple but are different orientations which will allow Casey to use them in various settings. I also did some fun little buttons and a favicon that you can see on Casey's site here!
And there you have it! I have loved seeing all of the branding come together on Casey's website and social media pages, so go check it out! And if you need any event help in Charlotte at all (minus weddings, of course!), give Casey a call. She's your girl! :)
